This also happened to my grandmother’s sister. She was Ukrainian, but her husband was Polish, and so they were forcibly resettled to western Poland. My grandmother’s brother stayed in the town they grew up in. My grandmother had left for Canada in 1930, and to the US in 1933. https://twitter.com/KasiaLDelgado/status/1493855552413253633
