@Suw Have you tried famotidine, a.k.a. Pepcid? That’s what I switched to. Works much the same without the cancer-causing side effects.

@leahmcelrath When I realized I could get the same thing out of programming, I realized that that was a career I could live with. I think there are lots of professions where it’s possible.

@leahmcelrath That trance-like state actually has a name, “flow”. It was described by psychologist Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi. I first remember it from my time as a camera operator at a TV station, where I could get so deeply into my work that the camera almost disappeared. 1/2

@rogue3 @epersonae At that price, pretty much anything that takes 600 film will be okay. There are so many variants that it’s hard to point to one, but they’re basically all the same simple box camera with a simple lens (or two for the ones where you can slide a close up lens in front).

@epersonae @rogue3 Then there’s Mint Camera, which refurbishes old SX-70s to let them use either 600-series or SX-70 style film. I have one of these, and it’s amazing, but yeah, really not cheap. I got a deal on mine when PO had a sale where they had 30% off of everything.

@epersonae @rogue3 Depends on what you want to spend. 600-series cameras tend to be pretty cheap unless you buy them from PO. The SLR-680 is basically an SX-70 that uses 600 series film. I have one and I love it, but they’re not easy to find and not cheap.
