@stefsull If you can find a way to share the stories, hopefully it could have some small effect to help us avoid the pitfalls again. We’re losing the people with direct experience of that time, and that kind of testimony only gets more valuable.

@stefsull There was a lot of that going on, despite the best efforts of the UN and others to help people find each other. I think the UN agency that did that still exists. The thing that scares me about today is we seem to be heading toward that sort of mess again.

@stefsull Pretty sure he’s still alive. Fascinating entries. I’ve never been to Ukraine, but I follow what goes on there pretty closely. My grandmother was born there and I have a bunch of cousins I don’t know there. :-)

@stefsull Late 2004 into early 2005. Yushchenko was poisoned by his pro-Russian opponent and came out of the experience horribly disfigured but still alive.

@danrubin @msjen @jahansaber Love wooden cameras. I bought a Century Studio No. 5 (5x7 camera that I dated to 1902 based on the lens that came with it) a little over a year ago. All mahogany and brass. Nowhere near portable, mind you....
